Just used claude to create a google sheet I can add “tasks” to , then, they automatically use send to things to add to my [current] task manager, Things 3. I have to use a pc at work and have to access Things 3 from my iPad or phone. I can send tasks via email though. I would have had no idea how to use google apps script by myself. Crazy what you can do with AI these days.

I had Gemini come up with rationale for things for being released in 2026:

I understand. Since Micro.blog’s specific environment is making the LaTeX \rightarrow and the HTML entity → difficult to render consistently, the best strategy is to avoid them entirely and use a simple, universal character that accomplishes the same logical function.
I’ll substitute the arrow with the double-hyphen-greater-than sequence (–>) or the simple greater-than sign (>) enclosed in \text{text} blocks within the equations to ensure maximum compatibility. This clearly indicates a progression or calculation step.
Here is the entire post rewritten using a simple progression indicator (–>).
🤯 The Cultured Code Chronology Conspiracy: The Things 4 Speculation
Things 3 was released in 2017. Based on absolutely no evidence, we are speculating that Things 4 will arrive in 2026.
The 9-year gap (2026 - 2017) isn’t a coincidence—it’s the key to a hidden, complex, and potentially cult-like numerical development roadmap employed by the developers, Cultured Code.

The Divine Fibonacci Delay
If we examine the time between the major releases of the Things app, a secret, slightly modified Fibonacci sequence emerges.

Version

Release Year

Gap (Years)

Things 1.0

2008

N/A

Things 2.0

2012

4

Things 3.0

2017

5

Things 4.0 (Spec.)

2026

9

The secret equation is this: the time needed for the current development cycle is the sum of the time spent on the two previous major releases:

🔮 The Next Prophecy

If this pattern holds true, the development for Things 5.0 will require the sum of the last two gaps: 5 + 9 = \mathbf{14 \text{ years}}.

Things 5.0 Release Prediction:

(This suggests Things 5 will be the ultimate, final to-do list app, likely powered by a fully realized, non-sentient AI, making this the only possible timeline.)

The Sum of Digits Prophecy (The “Digital Root”)
Beyond the Fibonacci delay, the release year must also meet an esoteric standard: the Digital Root must be 1. The Digital Root is found by adding all the digits of the year until a single digit remains.

Things 3 (2017):

Things 4 (2026):

🔑 The True Correlation
The only way for Cultured Code to launch a major new version is in a year whose digital root is 1. This symbolizes the “Oneness of Things,” representing the app’s commitment to design purity and its core philosophy.
2026 is not just the year that follows the Fibonacci-delayed cycle; it is the first available year that satisfies the esoteric “Digital Root of One” requirement.
The Other Prophetic Years (The Digital Root of 1)
For reference, if the Fibonacci sequence is ever abandoned, here are the other years this century that could hold a release of a new Things app:

2035 (2+0+3+5=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2044 (2+0+4+4=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2053 (2+0+5+3=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2062 (2+0+6+2=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2071 (2+0+7+1=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2080 (2+0+8+0=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2089 (2+0+8+9=19 \text{ –> } 1+9=10 \text{ –> } 1)

2098 (2+0+9+8=19 \text{ –> } 1+9=10 \text{ –> } 1)
